The Imperial Institute of Education and Training, Kolkata, was set up in the year 2012 in affiliated college in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. It is a co-educational institute affiliated by the national body at NCTE, New Delhi, with a 66-acre sprawling area. Student enrolment stands at 185 while the faculty strength is at 13 members. The Imperial Institute runs only one course in the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).

Various amenities are attached to the working of the institute for the purpose of enhancing the learning experience of its students. The infrastructure that the college offers is well-equipped enough to cater to the technological needs that help to empower learners with the advanced skills required to become effective professionals. A library furnished with 3,110 books also rows in it and is supported by a reading room with a sitting capacity of 50. Indoor games and gym equipment also make this college provided for physical fitness and recreation. The IT infrastructure ensures I-stations for the latest technologies aiding the studies. The laboratories are also kept in order so that practical work in various departments proceeds efficiently.

The Institute offers a regular two-year full-time B.Ed program, which is the mainstay of the Institution's academic activities. The B.Ed. course aims at grooming the student to take up a teaching profession, whereby the student is equipped with pedagogic skills and knowledge.

The admission to the Imperial Institute of Education and Training will strictly be on a merit basis considering the marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or an Entrance Examination. The admission policies that the institute follows are designed by the state government of West Bengal and the respective affiliated university.
