The IIHT Champa came into existence in the year 2006 and is a prominent educational centre worshipping the area of handloom and textile technology. This is a stand-alone college based in Champa Chhattisgarh, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). This makes this institution in line with standards set by most institutions in India. Located on a massive 22-acre campus, IIHT Champa has a more specialised approach to education for students developing their skills for the textile industry. As for now, the institute has a total of 67 students and 5 faculties In order to provide an individual focus on their clients, the institute specialised in several programmes and offers practical experience. It provides 2 courses for students .

IIHT Champa has well-equipped amenities of the current generation that are specially designed to address the requirements of textile learning. Most of the laboratories in the institute are well-equipped to give students a practical idea regarding handloom and textile technology. These are special facilities where concepts learned in class are taken, practiced and assessed Students attend these to gain practical experiences of what they have learnt. Also, there is a college library as a valuable source of textbooks, references and relevant industry publications that will enhance the students academic and research needs. The above facilities jointly provide an atmosphere that supports learning as well as innovation in the area of textile technology. Currently, the institute has only two full-time courses designed to attend to various educational needs in targeting textile industry in terms of career paths. 

The academic offered by IIHT Champa are as follows: · 3-Years Diploma in Handloom & Textile Technology · 4-Years B.Tech in Handloom & Textile Technology. Each of these programmes has a take of 30 students for a total of an annual take of 60 students for all the courses offered at the university. This makes sure the students get the right education, with separate focus on giving them professional training that will help them find job opportunities in the textile field. Academic programmes offered at the institute seek to harmonise theoretical education with skills that enable the graduates to practice the acquired skills in the handloom and textile industry.
