Situated at the Ezhimala in Kannur of Kerala the Indian Naval Academy was inaugurated in 1954. Since INSVSM as the first point of training for the officers of the Indian Navy it is important in molding future leadership of the nation’s naval forces. Located in a beautiful place along the shore, the academy occupies a big territory and combines both studying and specific military training. The INA at present provides three B.Tech programmes with specialization in Mechanical Engineering Electronics and Communication Engineering Applied Electronics and Communications Engineering. The academy has 82 dedicated faculty members, thus ensuring quality education needed for naval officers and the curriculum is unique to meet these needs.
The infrastructure of the Indian Naval Academy is that has been developed smartly and sophisticated adopting all essential facilities required to enhance the overall personality of a cadet. The campus includes hi-tech modern equipped laboratories for each department which is important for engineering to gain practical knowledge. The academy has a library which contains many books of different fields, and topics of study also has organized literature on naval concerns, ship, and sea. For physical training and recreation the INA has developed very good sports facilities. The academy also provides highly standard health care facilities for their cadets with fully functional clinic and laboratory. Another interesting feature of the INA is that the accommodation is based on squadrons, ensuring spacious and adequately illuminated individual cabins fitted with their computers and internet facilities, to name but a few perquisites, but promoting squad identity in return.
There are three full time B.Tech courses offered by the Indian Naval Academy and all of these courses take four years to complete. These programmes are aimed at offering the elementary skills and knowledge needed to undertake engineering courses as well as the programmes specific knowledge that will help the student join the Indian Navy. This university provides B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics Instrumentation Engineering and Electronics and Communication and B.Tech Applied Electronics and Communication Engineering.

MHT CET marks are used to get admission for the B.E/B.Tech courses which are offered by the participating colleges and this marks are not useful to to join in the INA.

You can join the Naval Academy either through NDA/NA examination or through 10+2 B. Tech Entry after 12 th or you can join it after graduation. Through this, only male candidates who have Physics and Maths in 12 th can apply.
