Indira College of Architecture and Design, ICAD, was established in the year 2015 at Pune, Maharashtra, and has been a well-known destination for architecture studies. The affiliation is with Savitribai Phule Pune University, and the institution is placed on the Pune-Mumbai Highway in Tathawade. The approval for this affiliated college comes from the Council of Architecture. ICAD occupies a compact campus of 2.8 acres, offering an intimate environment for its 306 enrolled students. Indira College of Architecture and Design is focused on providing the best possible facilities to enhance the learning experience of the students. There are well-equipped Boys' and Girls' Hostels accommodating 198 and 72 students, respectively, at Ithe college. These hostels provide the facility of comfortable shared rooms with facilities such as cots, cupboards, study tables, and chairs. A health centre with first-aid facilities is maintained in the campus environment for the maintenance of its community's health and well-being. Much attention has been given to the physical fitness of the students, who have access to a well-equipped gymnasium and a basketball court for outdoor activities. The library of the college is housing more than 500 books, journals, and magazines pertaining to architecture. This is in addition to an e-library that can be accessed to provide further research resources. The computer centre of ICAD has 20 Acer computers with 2GB memory, 500GB HDD, and Intel Core i3 processors; these machines are supported by a 10 Mbps Internet lease line.
Indira College of Architecture and Design concentrates on a single flagship program: the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.). This is a full-time 5-year course, the purpose of which is to inculcate in students a deep understanding of the principles of architecture and techniques for effective design and practical skills in the field. The curriculum is well laid out to meet industry standards so that one can enter into successful careers in Architecture.
