Indira Gandhi Government College Tezu was established in 1986 and accredited by NAAC with a B+ grade in 2006 (Cycle-I), a B++ grade in 2016 (Cycle-II) and a B grade in 2024 (Cycle-III). The IGGC Tezu is recognised by UGC, New Delhi. Indira Gandhi Government College Tezu is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University Doimukh, Itanagar. Indira Gandhi Government College Tezu offers a total of 3 courses in undergraduate programmes which include B.A, B.Com, and B.Sc. 

Before applying for a desired course the candidates should meet the IGGC Tezu eligibility criteria. The candidates should appear for the relevant entrance examination which includes CUET or equivalent examination. There is no railway station in Tezu however, the nearest railway station is Tinsukia Junction in Assam, approximately 165 km from IGG Tezu College.
