Indore School of Social Work or ISSW was founded in 1951 and is located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. It is well-known institute among the country’s social science institutions. This affiliated college which occupies a campus area of 3 acres is training social work professionals for more than seven decades. Thus, ISSW has 204 students enroled and has 7 faculty members; it provides 8 courses in 5 degree programmes. The Institute focuses on social science studies can be seen in its specialisations such as Bachelor and Master in Social Work and courses in Economics and Sociology, History and Political Science for undergraduates.

 The college offers course that are full time programmes, which include Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Master of Social Work (MSW), Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, and Ph.D in Social Work. Also, the institute provides three variants of the economics based bachelor of arts degree, in which economics is always combined with another social science. The BA courses in Economics combinations are portioned for an approval of 60 students. Due to the subject diversity of this programme, students with different concerns in social sciences and social work have access to several academic and career paths.

The admission process of Indore School of Social Work differs according to the course offered. In the case of undergraduate courses, the admission process can be according to the candidate’s performance of their 10+2 examinations. The Masters of Social Work (MSW) may require that a student must have the basic education of a degree in a related course. While admission to the PhD degree in Social Work is slightly different and a little more competitive at the institute level. University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi and those qualified for the Doctoral Eligibility Test (DET) by Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV). The institute takes UGC NET scores for its Ph.D. programme and underlines its desire to keep acadically stringent standards.
