The Institute of Dental Studies and Technologies, Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh, was established in 2001. Admission to IDST is merit-based, and an institutionalised uniform admission procedure is followed. For admission to the BDS programme, candidates have to qualify in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test conducted every year. In the case of MDS courses, the candidature is decided based on their performance in the NEET MDS examination. Such national-level entrance examinations at the graduate and postgraduate levels facilitate admitting students with a good foundation in basic sciences and aptitude for studies in dentistry.
