The Institute offers various programs from which to choose according to the range of interests and career aspirations of budding professionals. The admission procedure of the IEM is so framed as to be friendly to the students, and as easy as such can be, concentrating instead on selection, based on the candidate's merit and potential.

The cycle of admissions at the IEM should coincide with the academic calendar, and the applications are expected to be issued in spring for the forthcoming academic cycle commencing in late summer or early autumn.

In general, these eligibility norms for IEM programs rest on satisfactory performances in qualifying examinations relevant to each course. In most cases for undergraduate programs such as BBA, BCA, and B.Com, the candidate normally must have completed 10+2 from a recognized board. For postgraduate programs, like the MSW, in most instances, a bachelor's degree in some relevant area may be required.
