The Institute of Hotel Management, Ahmedabad was founded in 1972 as the Food Craft Institute. Later, it was upgraded as Institute of Hotel Management Ahmedabad (IHM Ahmedabad) in 1984 by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India. The IHM Ahmedabad offers admissions through NCHM-JEE exam to various UG, PG, Diploma, PGDM and certificate courses. Some of the top courses offered at IHM Ahmedabad are B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration, M.Sc in Hospitality Administration, Diploma in Food Production, PGD in Accommodation Operations and Management and craftsmanship course in Food and Beverage and Food Production and Patisserie.

Candidates are also required to appear for the National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE).
