The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Goa (IHM Goa), we find the pride of hotel industry’s horizon having its inception in 1968. Located in the beautiful surroundings of Alto Porvorim, Bardez, this autonomous institute occupies a spacious 5 acre area that ensures a balance of academic study and on the job experience. Being an institute of hospitality education IHM Goa has carved itself a niche for offering excellence education quality, the faculty here consists of 16 professional who give their best to teach students drawing from its strength the hospitality industry has their experienced faculty members with them.

It also prides itself in having better IHM Goa infrastructure and that would include better amenities to reflect the hospitality industry. Offering excellent learning facilities for each and every course, the Housekeeping Laboratory at this institute offers real life equipment and exposures in laundry, stains removing techniques, management of rooms etc. Computer Lab, a technology learning centre, familiarises the student with the current software used in the hotel industry, the Microsoft office packages, PMS packages among others. The library, which is referred to as source of water in the middle of the dry season, offers books, magazines, and journals for loaning as well as internet browsing computers. What we have for the aspiring chefs as well as other food service personnel is state of art training facilities that mimic operating kitchens and restaurants.

IHM Goa Admission

IHM Goa, the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Goa, is one of India's eminent autonomous institutions that offer high-quality hotel management and hospitality education. Its very admission system is done through a method that considers the most suitable candidates on the basis of a national-level examination.

Admission to the flagship B.Sc. program in Hospitality and Hotel Administration was based on the entrance test conducted by NCHM JEE, so as to filter the best competent students into the program. The exam process usually starts by mid-december of one year and ends by mid-february of the following year.

The basic qualification for applying to the B.Sc. degree program at IHM Goa is 10+2 or an equivalent degree. However, strangely, the process has allowed students taking their 10th and 12th examinations to submit an NCHM JEE provisional application. To note, the provisional admission will ipso facto stand canceled if the candidates do not produce documents establishing having passed the qualifying examination before the last available time for counseling/admission.

Application Process

The B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration at IHM Goa is made available for application as per the NCHM JEE. The typical process will be:

1. Log on to the official NCHM JEE portal when it starts taking online applications (the usual time is around the middle of December).

2. Register and create one's account in the portal.

3. Fill the online application form with all personal and academic particulars.

4. Upload requisite documents that may include:

Passport size photograph
Scanned signature
10th and 12th mark sheets (for those who have completed 12th)
Category certificates (if applicable)

5. Pay online the application fee.

6. Submit the completed application form and keep the printout for future use.

7. Download the admit card from the official website once it is released, to appear for the NCHM JEE exam.

8. As scheduled, appear for NCHM JEE.

9. Carry on for the announcement of results.

10. Take part in counseling if successful.

11. Should there be an allocation of the seat at IHM Goa, reporting to the institute will be required to complete document verification and admission formalities.
