Institute of Intellectual Property Studies (IIPS) was established in 2000. IIPS is a specialised institution offering education from the vibrant city of Mumbai, Maharashtra. The Institute of Intellectual Property Studies is a constituent college where an in-depth approach is made towards delivering higher education in the niche domain of intellectual property rights. Situated at the 7th floor of the SVKM's NMIMS Mithibai Campus, Vile-Parle West, the institute has offered a focused learning environment to potential IP professionals. IIPS has a 15-strong faculty of experienced educators, thereby providing effective attention and quality teaching to its students.

IIPS features a gamut of modern facilities that support the pursuit of knowledge. The institute comprises well-furnished computer centres that provide appropriate technological infrastructure to students conducting their research and learning processes. A spacious, air-conditioned Moot Court Hall, equipped with audio-video facilities, provides a real-life environment where students would be able to hone their skills in legal argumentation. Additionally, an auditorium is available for the organisation of seminars and events that have created an active academic environment. IIPS offers two postgraduate diploma programmes that have a full-time duration of one year. The specialised knowledge and practical skills in each field can be availed of with the PGD in Patent Law and Practice and the PGD in Intellectual Property Rights Management. A small class, limited to 30 students per programme, with an approved intake, fosters a relaxed and productive learning environment. These courses are open to graduates who wish to upgrade their expertise in the ever-changing domain of intellectual property.
