Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences Balasore was established in the year 2005 by the Mothers Educational & Charitable Trust. The IPS Balasore College is affiliated to the Odisha State Board of Pharmacy (OSBP), Bhubaneswar and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi. The institute is also recognised by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Odisha. 

The institute offers two courses, one in UG and one in Diploma. The IPS Balasore courses include a Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharma) and a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharma). The duration of the IPS Balasore UG course is 4 years while the diploma course is 2 years.

The minimum eligibility criteria for IPS Balasore admission is candidates should have passed 10+2 Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) or its equivalent from a recognised institute/board.
