Interactive Research School for Health Affairs (IRSHA), an autonomous constituent college, was established in the year 2002 to move with the modern era of the health care system. IRSHA is situated on Pune-Satara Road in association with Bharati Vidyapeeth Education campus and aims to take up the health science research. The institute has four doctoral programmes in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Interdisciplinary Sciences, and Ayurveda. IRSHA has a limited faculty of 16 and has only 3 students enrolled with it; hence, the institute offers a closely knitted research-orientated body. Due to its insistence on producing and employing world-class health sciences research, the institute is ideal for young scholars in these areas. IRSHA has several amenities expected for research-focused curricula at its disposition. 

There is one college library where students need to go, and that is very helpful in terms of books and research journals. Modern, sophisticated instruments and equipment are available in laboratories to offer practical training to the students of respective branches. It also has a health centre; it continually provides first aid to students, thus keeping them healthy. IRSHA has good IT resources that help to obtain the required digital materials and also meet compute-intensive research requirements. To augment these goals, the college has provided sporting facilities to complement sport and physical activities among learners. In addition, IRSHA has a good link with its alumni, and the link is crucial for any student who wants to build his or her career in the future. 

Over all, the institute provides four full-time doctoral programmes with the Doctor of Philosophy degree title. These programmes are spread across Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Interdisciplinary Science, and Ayurveda, which is in compliance with the principle of missions of IRSHA exploring different dimensions of the health science sector. Each of them is planned to be delivered in six years, so there is an opportunity to accomplish deep research and study. The total number of students the institute admits is only 3, which makes it quite a selective institute. This limited intake also gives the impression that the experience in doctoral education will be highly individualistic, and the students will be heavily supervised by the faculty. 

Admission to the IRSHA is highly centralised and controlled by university administration from time to time. Students who wish to join the university must take and pass Ph.D. entrance aptitude tests administered by the university. This practice of the rigorous selection process is that the qualified and dedicated candidates are accepted into the programmes.
