The International Center for Ayurvedic Studies at Jamnagar, Gujarat, is one of the most popular and prestigious institutions involved in the study and practice of Ayurveda. The institution was started in 1999 under the newly established Gujarat Ayurved University; it has spent two decades at the forefront of Ayurvedic education. The courses currently offered by the International Centre for Ayurvedic Studies are only one: Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery.The course comprises the comprehensive program that covers six years of intensive study of Ayurveda Principles and Practice. This BAMS course is a full-time course because it involves a deep study of subjects. 

The admissions at the International Center for Ayurvedic Studies are based on choosing students who are dedicated and passionate about the field of Ayurveda. As far as foreign nationals and NRI candidates are concerned, the university admits students based on a first-come, first-served basis. This is directly admitted to the constituent college, Gulab Kunverba Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya in Jamnagar.
