About International Institute of Biotechnology and Toxicology, Kancheepuram

IIBAT or International Institute of Biotechnology and Toxicology is a self financed institute that was established at Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu in 1978. This co-educational institution situated in Shanmuga Nagar, Padappai is noted to pioneer biotechnology and toxicology research for the last 40 years. IIBAT also provides many focused doctoral courses for those learners interested in developing their expertise in some of the most urgent scientific disciplines. These positions are evident from the calendar of courses offered by the institute in various disciplines within biotechnology as well as related sciences.

The IIBAT has many infrastructure facilities that are well suited for complicated researches and learning methods. The institute has well-equipped laboratory amenities as it aims to give practical experience for the students depending on their specific courses. A library, in this case, is well stocked with a central aim of providing the needed knowledge as students engage in academia. The campus has well developed IT facilities necessary for students to equip their research work through modern technologies. The cafeteria can provide students with a comfortable place for eating. They include Ph.D. in Toxicology, Ecotoxicology, Analytical Chemistry, Entomology, Pathology, Agronomy and Ancillary Ph.D. Each of these courses takes six years to complete so that enough research is done and the students get to study the subject fully. On this reason, as an institute of doctoral degrees, clear commitment towards increasing knowledge in biotechnology and producing highly qualified professional specialised in specific sub-disciplines of biotech and related sciences.

The admission process of the IIBAT’s programme is so created to admit only those candidates who have bright academic record and research aptitude.
