Itachuna Government Sponsored Primary Teachers Training Institute, situated at Hooghly, West Bengal, is one of the exclusive institutions, where only training in primary teachers occurs. the institute was co-educational, having an affiliation to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), conducting a well focused program of training in teaching professionals. The admission process in Itachuna Government Sponsored Primary Teachers Training Institute is merit-based, which means that quality students are selected for their program. The institute provides admission to its Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) program, which is a two-year full-time course designed to prepare students for teaching careers at the primary school level.
Application Procedure
1. Admission Notification: The institute would issue a notice of starting the admission process in its website as well as local newspapers.
2. Application Form: They have to secure and fill out the application form. This application form may also be available through the institute website or at its office.
3. Document Uploading: Supporting documents, with the application, include:
- 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificate

- Domicile certificate (as applicable)
- Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC) as applicable

Degree wise Admission Process

Admission to this program is based on merit, that is, based on the academic performance of candidates in their qualifying examination. The D.El.Ed. program is meant for training students to teach at the primary school level, with the provision of necessary pedagogical skills and knowledge.
