Women's College is intended to select deserving candidates for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It recruits females for admission into undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

The admission process is usually undertaken between August and September of the beginning academic year. Based on merit, the College receives applications for the majority of its programs, whereas some professional courses require an entrance test for selection.

Undergraduate programs require the candidate to have passed the 10+2 examination from any recognized Board. An aggregate of 50% in the qualifying examination will be considered as the minimum. For the postgraduate programs, a bachelor's degree in the relevant field, with a minimum of 55 to 60% or an equivalent CGPA, from a recognized university is required.

The college takes into consideration the scores of various national entrance examinations for the professional courses. The entrance exams accepted for admission into the MBA program are CMAT, MAT, CAT, and XAT. The shortlisted candidates may be asked to participate in Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds during the selection process for the MBA programs.

Application Process

The application process at J.D. Women's College, Patna, depends on the chosen program.

1. Most of the undergraduate programs (BCA, BBA, BA, B.Sc):   

  • Acquire the application form either from the college website or physically from the campus.
  • Fill the application form with accurate details of the personal life and academic background.

  • Fill the form with personal information and academic qualifications.   
  • Attach mark sheets of the qualifying degree, character certificate, and any other necessary documents.
  • Submit the application at the college admission office, along with the prescribed fee.

Degree-wise Admission Process 

MBA: The MBA program at J.D. Women College accepts scores from national-level entrance exams, namely CMAT, MAT, CAT, and XAT. Admission applications are required to submit score sheets from any of these exams taken within the last 12 months (September to May). Seniority for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds shall be provided by the college to only those candidates selected through the entrance test.

M.Sc: J.D. Women's College offers M.Sc programs in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, and Zoology. Admission to these courses is on a merit basis. A candidate needs to have a B.Sc in the relevant subject/field to be eligible to apply. However, exact details regarding the number of seats available for each of the M.Sc programs are not provided.

BCA: Admissions to the BCA program, which has been offered by the college for 120 seats, are merit-based.This merit is determined by the performance of the candidate in the qualifying exam (i.e. 10+2).

BBA: This has similar rules of admission as that of BCA; it has 120 seats and is based on merit.
