Jagan’s Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nellore (JIPS) is the leading Pharmaceutical organization of learning that was instituted in 2007. Currently located at Jangalakandriga, Muthukur Mandal, Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh, this affiliated college occupy a total area of 2 acres of land. PCI recognizes JIPS that implies quality education for its students in the chosen field of pharmacy. The institute is equipped with total number of students being 414 and has a faculty of 46 with 5 courses offered at 2 degree levels. Currently, the Department offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Analysis. 

Jagan’s Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences encompasses a number of amenities to support and improve the learning environment of the students. The campus has male and female hostels to accommodate students in case they choose to live in the compound. A modern and well-stocked library is an essential resource center to students and lecturers. An integral part of the education process is the availability of modern equipped labor Safety features make an institute an ideal place for receiving practical training in many pharmaceutical specializations. An auditorium provides venue and platform to events and seminars whereas cafeteria fulfills the requirement of food services of a camp tài. The institute has all courses under the pharmaceutical field beginning with the undergraduate to the postgraduate level. JIPS offers 4 full time courses, One undergraduate programme – B.Pharma, one post graduate programme – M.Pharma in Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology, Five and half year programme – Pharm. D. The total admitted approved intake for all the courses is 175 and maximum intake for B.Pharma is 100. The course comes in a diverse package that enables the student to have an area of interest in different aspects of pharmaceutical sciences a factor that makes student be ready for a career in the pharmaceutical industries.

This paper aims at analyzing the admission process at Jagan’s Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences for the qualifiers to the various programmes offered by the institute. For taking admissions in B.Pharmacy course, it gives preference to the students clearing AP EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test) examination. This examination is state level, which gives the individuals the opportunity to become pharmacy students. The admission dates in particular may not be fixed throughout the year but the students who expect to take admission should follow the AP EAMCET exam dates other counseling sessions. 

From the above, post graduate programmes may base their admission on candidates’ previous performance in their undergraduate studies and perhaps sit an entrance examination or interview.
