James College of Education for women was started in the year, 2005 in Kanyakumari,Tamilnadu and it is one of the leading teacher training institution. This co-educational institutional offering affiliation from the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University was established in the year 1999 with the noble prime objective of producing future teachers. This college occupies a limited area of land measuring 1.545 acres only; however, it provides the best environment within and outside the classroom.

This college is equipped with numerous modern amenities for its academic activities. The library is quite comprehensive as far as B.Ed., M.Ed. And educational research books are concerned, such as open access system and Library has computers. The computer lab utilizes twenty computers and the internet to enable the students to adopt information technology into learning. Like other additional facilities multimedia classroom helps to boost the teaching learning process and separate hostel of boys and girls also provide a comfortable staying facility to all the students. The college also has sporting amenities and a gym and health center to address first aid needs of students besides their academic needs.

James College of Education currently offers one full-time course. The said program is the B.Ed. This two-year program has an approved intake of 100 students proving the quality teacher education focus of the institute. In its current form, the B.Ed. course is intended to prepare future educators for the responsibilities they are going to assume in the nearest future. Currently the college offers only one degree program, but the fact that the college aims at specialising in teacher education and striving for the best quality in training teachers indeed shows more commitment.
