Jamtara College which was set up in 1961 is an recognized college in the district of Jamtara in the state of Jharkhand. This constituent college has been in existent for over six decades offering quality education to students from the society. Jamtara College of Pharmacy and Science is a large college with a 20-acre area of land; it has 22 courses that fall into four categories of degree in its program offerings. At the moment, the college has the total enrolment of 2,436 and has faculty 11 member faculty to support its programs. 

It has various facilities that can help improve learning environment and the development of the students of the college. The center of all academic books is the library which is nearly fully automated to issue standard books and learning material to the students. Best of all, laboratories – properly equipped for educational use – provide practical experience for science students. Indoor athletic facilities for sports activities include playgrounds on both the campuses where inter collegiate tournaments, athletic meets etc are conducted. A gym is also provided for those students who want to exercise themselves to keep fit. For those who need a place to live, the college has a hostels for boys and girls each one capable of holding one hundred students’ each.

This institution offers 22 full-time course in various fields of study in arts an sciences. As to the enrollment for the latest year, it is quite sizable and, therefore, one can assume that graduates produced by this university could contribute to a number of disciplines.
