JAS College of Education, Coimbatore. This is a co-educational institution that focuses on trainer instructing, and was started in 2008. The affiliated college situated in Ramakrishnapuram, Chinnavedampatti is approved by THE National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Situated on a small plot of 1.1 acres, the institute has a concentrated study area, which is suitable for those willing to become successful educators. Currently, the institution had a total enrolment of 197 student population with 16 teaching faculty making the student teacher ratio manageable in order to facilitate effective teaching of the discipline for teachers.

The college has diverse amenities that seek to improve learning and personal growth of students attending the institution. Equipped library is the fundamental need of a student as it’s a mini-UNIVERSE for students where they can gather all types of knowledge required for their academics. Tournaments, organisation of different sports events, availability of well-equipped sports grounds and floors ensure that the students get their needed physical touch and sprit of fellowship. A hall on the campus is used for different events and seminars and therefore furthers academic environment. According to the need of the modern education system, the institute has well established IT facilities. Laboratory is for practical for subject based practical and cafeteria is for students to relax and interact. The college also immensely values health care with a medical center with first aid facilities offered to students.

JAS College of Education currently offers one primary course. Certification course named as the B.Ed. This programme is a two-year full course and is aimed at producing competent teachers to enable its students to effectively practice the same. Based on the approved capacity, this institute takes only 100 students for this program, though they can afford to enrol many more aspiring teachers. This specific and specialised approach facilitates the aims of the college by enabling it to direct its effort and capabilities towards the provision of a broad based experience in teacher training.

The admissions policy of the JAS college of Education adopts the state government and affiliated university standard selection policies, which are based on merit. This means that the admissions are given based on the performance in the qualifying examination as well as other entrance examinations.The college many also use other procedures for admission as dictated by the current policy.
