Jawaharlal Nehru Smriti Mahavidyalaya, Vidisha is an affiliated college established in 1989situated at Ganjbasoda, district Vidisha of Madhya Pradesh. The institute is affiliated to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and Recognised by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Located on a small piece of land of 0.38 acres the college specifies in teacher education. Currently having 191 students and 16 faculty members, the institute has a capacity of offering 2 full time courses under 2 degree programs. The college has a specialisation in training B.ED and D.EL.ED juniors especially for those who have interest in teaching.

The institute owns a number of amenities that may help improve students learning process.. The library is a tremendous resource having 2nd biggest collection of books in the district which is strengthened by 9,613 books on B.Ed, 5,938 books on M.Ed, 211 books on D.Ed, 2,141 reference books, 1,221 Encyclopedia and 102 educational journals subscription. This rich resource is highly suitable for use as workspace when conducting research and consultation. A well facility laboratory practical sessions also form part of the campus facilities. For students’ living, the college offers both boys and girls hostels for student’s accommodation. IT facilities cater to the concept learning where the institute ensures learning methods in tune with a modern progressive world A four-station gym and multiplicity sports including cricket badminton Table tennis volleyball.

Jawaharlal Nehru Smriti Mahavidyalaya offers two full-time courses B.Ed and D.El.Ed. The total certified BPM capacity for these programs is 150 including B.ED to which 100 of the overall capacity is assigned and D.EL.ED with a capacity of 50 overall seats.

The admission criteria at Jawaharlal Nehru Smriti Mahavidyalaya is strictly merit based on the percentage of marks obtained in the previous examination i.e qualifying examination/entrance examination. The college therefore operates with admission policies provided by the state government of Madhya Pradesh and the affliated university. For the B.Ed program, the students are admitted based on merit in the qualifying examination along with Entrance examination or any other mode prescribed by the state government & university norms. Likewise for the D.El.Ed programme admissions as per merit, marks obtained in the qualifying or entrance test wherever prescribed following the policies of the state government/UT administration.
