Jayaram College of Engineering and Technology was set up in 1994, it is affiliated and located in Thuraiyur, Tamil Nadu. Located over a large area of 33 acres, JCET provides numerous fields of engineering and technology. It operates under AICTE and is recognised institute with a total intake of 649 students. Estalbished in 1995 JCET at present has a total of 80 members of faculty and thus the student-teacher ratio is manageable and the education imparted is standard. The college teaches 8 courses that are offered across 3 degrees and these courses focus on different fields of engineering an computer application.

There are many facility amenities at JCET which collectively contributes to improve the general learning environment. Jayaram College of Engineering and Technology library plays a central role in collection of quite a large number of books inform of over 55000 volumes of books and subscribes to many national and international journals. Studentsin the course are supplied with both traditional and internet resources to help them in their academic and research activities. Living on campus students are catered by JCET that offers well furnished hostels separately for boys and girls. These facilities provide dining services, emergency medical services and recreational space, and in general provide a comfortable environment for student living. The college pays great attention to the learners’ health; there is a college doctor, and the institution has MOU with a hospital in case of emergencies.

At JCET, students can find almost all the engineering courses they may be interested in based on their career goals. The institute offers 8 full time courses  6 at undergraduate and 2 at postgraduate level. The undergraduate programmes comprise BE Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering Electronics and Communication Engineering the students also have Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, B.Tech Information Technology. To cater the post graduate courses, JCET provides ME in Manufacturing Engineering and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course. 

Admission is done in a fair and very efficient manner at JCET, to enhance the desire and aspiration of any candidate in taking a choice of his or her preferred programme. Though, there are no detailed steps on how to gain admission into each course offered by the college, entrance examination scores are accepted. In the case of undergraduate engineering programmes, JCET uses the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions Counseling (TNEA) conducted annually based on the percentage of marks obtained in the state board or any other exam recognised as equivalent thereto. For Master’s level courses such as MCA, the college accepts the scores from the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET). Also, JCET accepts the Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admission (CEETA-PG) for some postgraduate programmes.
