Hello, Shruti. First of all congratulations for your Class 12 boards exam result and I wish you all the best for your future.

This year, JIIT, Noida, will be going to sort out students for admission (10+2 marks merit based admission) on the basis of Class 10+2 Merit List. In their E-brochure, they have clearly specified how they will draw the Merit List:

(a) Percentage calculated for the three subjects (Maths, Physics & one other subject from Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, Biology, Informatics Practices, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subjects, Agriculture, Electronics, Entrepreneurship, Engineering Graphics and Business Studies.)

(b) In case of same percentage of marks scored by more than one candidate, merit will be decided as follows:

  1. Marks score in Mathematics (out of 100),
  2. Marks score in Physics (out of 100)
  3. In case of a tie-up after (i) & (ii) above, date of birth will be considered (born earlier will be allotted higher merit). In this regard, one point is worth mentioning is that they have also mentioned on the E-brochure, "a candidates’ date of birth as recorded in the High School/Secondary Education Board Certificate should fall on or after October 01, 2000.

In the Amendment 4.1.3, they have mentioned, candidates should have minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in aggregate in 10+2 or its equivalent examination. So, you need not to worry because you have a fair chance of getting admission at JIIT, Noida.

Before ending the answer, I would like to mention the important dates of admission.

Last date of applying online/offline is 14th August, 2021 (So, currently the application is CLOSED . I hope you have submitted your application form in due date.)

Date of Counselling/Entrance Test is  around 16th - 24th August, 2021. (If you have filled your application, get ready for your counselling.)

I hope I have made all the points clear. Thank You.

Dear Ridhika,

According to you, you scored 87% in class 12 and 75 percentile in JEE Main 2021 then your rank would be around 255750 - 287500 . There is minimum chance to get admission in JIIT Noida because your rank is quite high. And according  to the previous year, the closing rank of JIIT Noida for CSE course is 54056.

Hey Yash,

Let me share some insights so that it is easy for you to make your decision.

  • NIRF '20 Ranking: CU ==> 84 | Jaypee ==> 115
  • Placements: Both are almost equal, however their median salaries are:
    • CU ==> 3.5 LPA
    • Jaypee ==> 3.6 LPA
  • Fees (4 years): CU ==> ~7.5 Lakhs| Jaypee ==> ~9.5 Lakhs
  • Faculty: Here CU takes the lead.

Based on these information, it is advisable to choose CU over Jaypee because of its value for money. Nevertheless you too work out your priorities and make the decision that suits you the best.

Hope this was helpful.

You may apply for it but there is less possibility to get CSE (B.Tech) in Jaypee Noida with this score. You may get Electronics and Communication Engineering (4 years) or Computer Science 5-years (B.Tech + M.Tech) integrated course. I can't predict very accurately as the cutoff fluctuates a lot.

Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida

  • Computer Science and Engineering (4-years course) :

The closing rank is near about 52K. For this, you have to get above 95 percentile.

  • Computer Science and Engineering (5-years integrated course) :

The closing rank is near about 94K. For this, you have to get above 91 percentile.

Dear Aspirant,

Firstly see the branch you are getting. Cse is the most preferred branch. If you are getting CSE then don't leave it.

Secondly college if you are getting a good college for CSE branch then go for it but if you are getting any other branch and there are many colleges are good in core branch studies .

Thirdly your choice if you want to study core branch studies then you shouldn't prefer the CSe. But if you want to study CSE then go for it.

Jaypee Noida;-

Placements: The highest package offered was of 39 LPA by Adobe and the average package offered in this course is around 4-5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Deloitte. Approximately 90% of the students were placed. The top roles offered are mainly software developer, Data analyst, etc.

Infrastructure: In CSE course there are different labs for different subjects like programming labs, database management labs, etc. There is a very huge library too named 'LRC' (Learning Resource Centre) with many hardcover books, E-books, magazines, etc. The hostel is very well maintained and totally hygienic with totally air conditioned 2 seater rooms. The mess food is totally nutritious providing 3 time proper and healthy meal to all the students. There is a small dispensary in the campus with 24/7 ambulance facility. Also there is a basketball court, badminton court, volleyball court, swimming pool, etc.

Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified with proper knowledge. Most of the teachers have done their Masters from IITs and other well reputed colleges. The course curriculum is proper as they strictly stick to the core subjects of the course. The curriculum is designed in such a way that it makes all the students completely ready for the professional jobs.

NSUT:-

Placements: Around 80% of the students got placed from the first batch of mechanical engineering. However, in the end, all students got placed with the highest salary package of 10 LPA. The majority of students got placed in tech companies. Few mechanical core companies participate in campus interviews. There are no mechanical core internships in our college.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is good only in the student activity centre and some other places but does not function in new buildings and sports complex. There are many labs, but they are not good as you expected. There is a sports complex in a huge area. There are 3 basketball courts, a cricket ground, football ground, 2 tennis courts, 2 volleyball grounds, 1 badminton court, gym and 5 table tennis tables, but balls are not available.

Faculty: Most of the teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable which help students to clarify all their doubts but it does not imply to all the teaching staff. Only teachers of the core branches are good. The teaching quality is satisfactory. But students don't become industry ready for core mechanical companies.

Hi Aspirant,

Both the institutes VIT(Bhopal) and Jaypee Institute of Information Technology(Noida) are amazing. VIT Bhopal is a private state university established in 2017. It offers BTech programmes based on JEE Main/ VITEEE scores. VIT Bhopal has its own training and placement cell to organize the placement procedure for the students. The average package offered is around 7 lakh where the top recruiters are TCS, Virtusa, Infosys, etc.

While JIIT Noida is a private deemed to be university established in year 2004. It offers a total of five courses, of which four are full-time degree programs like BTech , MTech , MSc and PhD , while one is a dual degree that integrates B.Tech and M.Tech. Admissions to JIIT could be done using either JEE main scores or 12th score. Average package offered in placement is around 5 lakh. Top recruiters are Adobe,Infosys,Airtel,etc.

So now it all depends on you which one is more beneficial to you.
