JB Hagjer Degree College was started in 1995 at Dima Hasao, Assam, and it is an affiliated college. Located in a beautiful campus area measuring 4.95 acres, this institution has been the provider of education for close to three decades. At the moment, this college has only three undergraduate programmes in the arts stream and an enrolment capacity of 73. JB Hagjer Degree College has a faculty of five devoted members, thus, it provides a good student-teacher ratio to give attention to subject combinations for the benefit of the student learners.

JB Hagjer Degree College currently has three full-time programmes all of which are under the Bachelor of Arts (BA). These include a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a Bachelor of Arts in History, and a Bachelor of Arts in Education. Each programme that is being offered has an approved intake of 25 students, which means that there are 75 seats in total. The humanities and the social sciences taught in the college enable students to develop critical thinking approaches, analytical skills, and a general understanding of society and culture.
