Jharsuguda Engineering School, Jharsuguda (JES) established technical college in Odisha, India. This affiliated college originated in the year 1955 for promoting engineering in the country and for the past six decades this college has been honing the future engineers. The institute is established at Badhimunda, Jharsuguda on 78.025 acres of land and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. JES provides the following diploma programmes in engineering fields; The total number of students admitted is 1,233. The current faculty strength of the institute is 22 teachers who are devoted to practices, the issuance of competent and quality education is provided with small class size to allow the teachers to attend to individual students all the time.

The Jharsuguda Engineering School has acquired facilities to improve the learning process of the learners in the institute. The campus also boasts itself with laboratories to support Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering departments. These vary with others from other institutions by offering practical sessions where students are allowed to use the knowledge they have garnered to resolve some problems. JES has also a collection of more than 5000 reference books, CDs, DVDs, and e-journals, and a computerized research laboratory which accommodates twenty students. IT facilities and resources at the institute are just superb and facilitate modern pedagogy and tools as well as helps the students to learn according to the facility of the technological era.

JES has a wide range of diploma courses with five full-time courses; each of three years’ duration. These contain; Diploma in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology. The total approved intake capacity in all the courses is 420 SEATS, Mechanical Engineering & Electrical Engineering being the largest booking capacity with 120 seats. Civil Engineering occupy the second place with 90 students while Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and Information Technology take 60 and 30 students equally. This diverse range of programme facilitates the student and they are able to select a specialty bent that they would wish to pursue.

In fact, the admission process of Jharsuguda Engineering School for Boys is very much simple and effective. It is not clear what entrance test is required but the institute probably requires students to take the general test like other diploma institutions in Odisha.  The management of the institute has ensured equal fees charges of 17,400 INR for all the diploma courses power wise enabling a more expanded segment of students to access quality technical education .

JES lays down much importance on affective education, and as a result, provides a numerous of co-curricula amenities. The male and female students are accommodated in fully equipped hostels for boys of 250 seats and girls 350 seats respectively with strict discipline and devotion to reckoning the success of a student. These hostels have provisions like Security services through out the day/night, Study room, TV with Cable connection, Indoor/Outdoor game facilities. The institute has a canteen and a cafeteria, well equipped sports field, gymnasium, facility for indoor games, a hall for holding events and seminars, a health center with medical amenities. Moreover, JES enables strenuous alumni cooperation with the current students so that learners can communicate with graduates who achieved success.
