Since 1970, JN College, Nehra, has been one of the leading institutions in Nehra, Bihar. Spread over a campus of about 6 acres, this constituent co-educational institution has a highly supportive atmosphere for learning and development. It has a total student enrollment of 2,837, with up to a remarkably wide range of courses in academics. At the undergraduate level, it offers two undergraduate programs of three years full-time duration: the Bachelor of Science and the Bachelor of Arts.

The institution has varied facilities to enrich the learning environment of their students. It has a well stocked library and will be a knowledge centre, as it has to avail quality academic resources for the students. Moreover, it offers sports facilities as part of the college for the sporty and physically fit students, enhancing good health. It has well-equipped department-based laboratories in the Science stream and provides hands-on training to students. 

The JN College, Nehra, meanwhile at the present offers two major undergraduate courses as given below:

Both these courses are full-time and are three years each in duration. These courses are oriented toward building a strong foundation in subjects and hence enabling the students for further studies or job-oriented. The merit based for admission to JN College, Nehra, is taken as the academic performance in the 12th standard or equivalent examinations.
