JR Kissan College of Education, Rohtak was established in the year 2007 and is amongst the most reputed teaching colleges of Haryana, India. This affiliated College has been permitted from NCTE; the pride of this institution is to take care of the future of Education. It is spread over 0.62 acres near the old Subderpur Road Jind Bye Pass Chowk, offering scope for studies with great ambiance and scope for growth. JR Kissan College of Education provides a very focused and personalized educational experience as evidenced by a total enrollment of 200 students supported by a faculty strength of 13. Presently, the institute is offering only one degree program, the B.Ed. which reflects its special approach towards teacher training.
The institute has a number of facilities which add to the learning experience of the students. There is a library measuring an area of 2500 sq. It houses more than 6,250 books on education, including text-books, encyclopedias, and reference books. Educational journals, periodicals, and newspapers are subscribed on behalf of the department. It thus rendering colossal service to the would-be teachers. It has the seating capacity of 150 students at one time. The library is spacious enough for study and research. The college has two well-equipped state-of-the-art laboratories: the Psychology Lab and the Education Technology Lab. These laboratories play an important role in integrating theoretical knowledge with practical studies to help students cope with the modern challenges in teaching. The Psychology Laboratory helps students understand different aspects of child development skills, whereas the Education Technology Laboratory acquaints students with new teaching methodologies and equipment.
JR Kissan College of Education offers only one full-time course, namely B.Ed. The intake is approved for 100 students in this two-year course; therefore, an optimum number of teachers to students are guaranteed. Therefore, the course structure of B. Ed is framed in such a way that it provides knowledge, skills, and practical experience of utmost importance for a successful career as a teacher.
