Kalimpong Government Polytechnic, Darjeeling: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Located at Upper Cart Road, Gouripur, Ward No. 21, Kalimpong, in Darjeeling, West Bengal, Kalimpong Government Polytechnic is a technical institution with the goal of providing quality education in engineering streams. This government polytechnic has been approved by AICTE, New Delhi, thus ensuring that the programs offered in technical education are based on the national standards of technical education.  It has great strength of faculty is 14.

Among its various facilities is a library where students could enrich their learning process with abundant academic materials and reference books. In support of practical learning, Kalimpong Government Polytechnic has department-based, well-maintained laboratories. The laboratories provide hands-on working experience to the students, an integral part of developing practical skills in their respective fields. The institution has also ensured that it includes excellent IT infrastructure so that the students are properly conversant with the latest developments in technology-an indispensible factor in contemporary engineering education.

Kalimpong Government Polytechnic runs only three full-time diploma courses, each having a three-year duration. The programs on offer are Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, and Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. Each of these courses has an approved intake of 60 students, therefore making a total of 180 seats. 

While the specific admission processes have not been mentioned, the general trend of admission in most of the polytechnic institutes in India is based either on state-level entrance examinations or on 10th standard marks.
