Kalpataru First Grade Science College, Tiptur, is an acknowledged college of Tumkur, Karnataka and was established in the year 1961. This is an affiliated college that occupies a vast land of twenty acres, and has been offering scientific education for six decades. It is a NAAC accredited college which defines how important the college is to maintain proper standard in education system. The total number of students of the institute is 1304 and it has 34 faculty members and gives various scientific and computer applications courses. The college offers five unique courses under two degree programmes offering specialisations in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science, Electronics or Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Botany or Zoology.

Kalpataru First Grade Science College has stood out with the best infrastructures expected to support the learning process of the students. The physical facilities include well equipped laboratories for sciences which allow the students to gain practical experience necessary in their development. The library is one of the circulating centres in the college where books, magazines and journals are piled up. An institute offers four B.Sc. courses and one B.C.A. courses to their students. The total intake of all the programmes is one thousand three hundred and four students. This diverse course offering means that every student can opt to specialise in one area among the following; B.Sc Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, Electronics, Computer ScienceChemistry, Botany and Zoology.
