Kannur Medical College, Anjarakandy: Admission 2025, Courses, Fees, Cutoff, Placements, Ranking

Kannur Medical College, Anjarakandy, is a known medical school in Kerala. It selects students for its various courses on a rigorous merit admission procedure. This constitutes the KMC admission process, which is mainly conducted by national-level entrance examinations. For the undergraduate program, the MBBS course is admitted only by the NEET Undergraduate. The same applies for the postgraduate MD/MS as admissions are made on the base of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate (NEET-PG). Beginning in August-September is the academic year at KMC, and the admissions process would probably begin a few months earlier. 

Candidates must qualify in the respective entrance exams as well as satisfy the eligibility requirements put down by the college, as well as those put down by the regulatory bodies, in order to be eligible for admission. To be eligible for MBBS admission, the candidates need to have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as subjects. Given the limited number of seats (150 for MBBS) and the overwhelming number of applications submitted from all over the country, the competition for selection includes this and many other hurdles.

Application Process

MBBS: The application procedure is as follows:

1. Qualify in the NEET-UG exam. 
2. Register for state-level counseling (as KMC follows state-level counseling for MBBS admissions). 
3. Fill in the KMC application form during the counseling process. 
4. Upload all the necessary documents which include but are not limited to NEET-UG score card, 10+2 mark sheets, and other certificates as specified. 
5. Report for counseling if shortlisted. 
6. If the candidate is allotted a seat, the candidate must follow KMC's admission formalities, including fee payment and document verification.

For MD/MS Programs:

1. Qualify the NEET-PG exam. 
2. Register yourself for the centralized counseling process for PG medical admissions. 
3. Fill up the application form for KMC PG programs during counseling. 
4. Submit all required documents along with NEET-PG score card, MBBS degree certificate, completion of internship certificate, and other necessary documents. 
5. Report to the counseling session if shortlisted. 
6. Complete admission formalities at KMC if allotted a seat, such as payment of fees and verification of documents.

Admission Process by Degree

MBBS: The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program at KMC has an intake of 150 seats. Admission to this program is solely based on the candidate's performance in the NEET-UG examination. It is compulsory for aspirants to qualify NEET-UG and also meet the cutoff criteria set by the college.

MD/MS Programs: There are numerous postgraduate programs under various medical specializations offered by Kannur Medical College. The total number of seats for all the MD/MS courses is 21. Some of the specialization courses are as follows:

All these MD/MS programs offer admission on the basis of NEET-PG scores. Those qualifying in NEET-PG but are not attaining cutoff scores will be ineligible to be admitted to the programs.

Documents required generally for MBBS and MD/MS admissions include:

• 10th and 12th standard mark sheets
• Transfer certificate
• Migration certificate (if applicable)
• Caste certificate (if applicable)
• Physical fitness certificate
