Kannur Medical College, Anjarakandy (KMC) is one among the most popular medical colleges founded in the year of 2006. This affiliated college is situated in Kannur and has a total area of 218 Acres. KMC is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and it provides number of medical courses. This college has a faculty team of 136 members, which takes care of the education of its students. KMC offers 12 courses in 3 degrees programmes in different fields of medical specialisation. In addition, it is pronounced to be a co-educational institution which makes it affordable to students from different background.

Kannur Medical College wants to offer its students excellent means. The campus comprises of hostel facility for male and female students. Medical requirements of students are met by a good health centre with a first aid section. A modern gym and diverse sports facilities served in the college speak about the priority of physical training among students. For its academics, KMC has a well stocked library as well as IT facilities for modern learning. It also has well-equipped cafeterias and students are also allowed to spend their leisure time in these premises, they can also attend functions and programmes organised in the college auditorium.

The institute has 12 courses and all these are on full time mode of study. These include the oldest and most popular bachelor programme, MBBS course and other master’s educational courses like MD&MS in various specialties. The MBBS programme has an allowed number of 150 students, while most of the postgraduate courses have 1 or 2 seats. This diverse list of programmes provides the students an opportunity to follow the specialisation they want to in the medical line. The specialisations are in MD in Radiodiagnosis, MS in Opthalmology, MD in Microbiology, Community Medicine,Psychiatry, and so on. 

Kannur Medical College has its own policies of admission which are both merit based and standard. MBBS programme admission is through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate (NEET-UG) examination. All aspiring candidates must obtain a score in NEET and must also meet the requirement required by the college. Likewise, the postgraduate courses or MD/MS are also administered through conduct of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate (NEET-PG). This college admits its students from qualified candidates who passed these entrance examinations
