Kanta College of Education, Chalwara, started in the year 2007, is an affiliated college located in Chalwara, Himachal Pradesh. This co-educational institution is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and focuses in teacher education only. This college is spread over an area of about 5.28 acres and the total enrolment of the college at present is 373 and there are 31 faculty members in the college. Kanta College of Education has only one programme of study, the B.Ed, with approved enrolment capacity of 200 students.

Kanta College of Education provides plenty of resources whose primary aim would be to improve the learning process of the students. Another important achievement is a highly equipped library which is one of the key learning resources studied by more than 7000 books, periodicals, magazines, and encyclopedias. It appreciates the role of technology in the current learning process, having an ICT Resource Centre with internet and multimedia resources. The institution provides students with a computer laboratory with relevant technology that allows them to practice in different software and improves their computer skills. In order to protect the health of its community, the college provides for a health centre with first aid amenities. The campus also has an event and seminar facility, a clean cafeteria and separate car parks for the faculty, the staff and the students.

Kanta College of Education is exclusively devoted to its B.Ed programme and has a capacity of 200 students. This is full-time, two-year course that has been developed to equip individuals to become effective educators in the future. The curriculum of such programme encompasses different types of pedagogical theories, teaching methods and effective practices of classroom teaching. Being a specialised college for teacher education, it can concentrate all its effort and knowledge on this area which can give a better and deeper preparation to its students.

The admission policy of the Kanta College of Education involves merit in the qualifying or entrance test. The college follows the admission policy as framed by the State Government, Union Territory Administration, and this University to which the college is affiliated. The college provides transport facility for students who avail it and thus makes traveling easier for those students who live close to the college. In addition, Kanta College of Education has an alumni association who can be of great benefit to current students in as much as they offer training and or employment opportunities to them.
