Karavali Polytechnic Mangalore was started in the year 1996, is one of the most recognised technical institutions situated in Karnataka, India. This affiliated college is located at Kottara Chowki Junction on the National Highway 17, and is committed to nurturing the engineers of tomorrow for the last twenty-two years. This institute is also AICTE approved and situated in a five acre campus to suit the pleasant ambience for learning. This institution admitting 354 students in it, employing 89 faculties offer Diploma programmes in various engineering branches.

It believes in possessing fine facilities that are required for the overall growth of the students. The library in the college has now become a paradise of books with rich collection of national and international books and journals that has made the students and faculties knowledgeable. With regard to technical equipment students are enabled to practice in 72 varying laboratories and 590 computers of the campus. Through the Wi-Fi enhanced campus, ease of access to resources over the internet is achieved hence making it easier for students. For the sports lovers, Karavali Polytechnic had facility for a play ground and has almost all the sports requirements so as to enhance the health and the team spirits. According to the growing need and demand, the institute also has provision of hosting separate boys and girls hostel to make out station students comfortable and safe.

Although Karavali Polytechnic offers seven full- time diploma courses, all the courses have a duration of three years only. These programmes embrace wide classes of engineering disciplines like Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering etc. The institute has an overall sanctioned strength of 510, out of which Computer Science is next to Civil and Mechanical Engineering that offer 120 seats each.
