Karnataka Government Polytechnic, Mangalore (KGP Mangalore) is a famous polytechnic institution which was established in the year 1946. Situated in Kadri Hills of Mangalore, this affiliated college offers technical education approval from AICTE. KGP Mangalore campus is vast covering nineteen acres of land; the institution offers various diploma programmes in engineering fields. In total, the institute has 1241 students and 31 faculty members with all the necessary infrastructure for technical education. KGP Mangalore has 1 degree offering 10 courses in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Computer Science, Civil, Automobile and Chemical Engineering fields.

The institute houses numerous amenities to cater to the students’ academic and or personal needs. The library contains more than 13 000 volumes of technical and general interests, numerous magazines, and journals that can be helpful in students’ study and research processes. In this regard, KGP Mangalore offers over 20 laboratory sessions with state of the art equipment and other infrastructure facilities in different branches. The college maintains the physical health of students through a sports ground for track and field events, athletic fields and a hall for indoor sports including carom and table tennis, badminton etc. Boys and girls are provided with different hostel facilities and they are taken care by full time lecturers who act as wardens. There is also a canteen facility available, health centre with a provision of first aid, an auditorium for organising event and seminars and training and Placement Cell to help students in their placements.
