Karpagam College of Pharmacy, Mayileripalayam: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

The Karpagam College of Pharmacy, KCP was established 2006 is situated in Mayileripalayam, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. This is a co-educational institution that is recognised PCI affiliated college Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) apart. KCP is located in a campus of 6.82 acres and has 7 programmes at three different levels of study in the discipline of pharmacy. The college has total students 510 of them , among them 70 percent were male students and the remaining 30 percent were female students. The faculty members which KCP comprises are 28 in number and could keep the student-faculty ratio in good shape. This is evident basing on the institutes course offers and equipments that provide the best recognised standard of learning.

In order to support learning and development of the students’ skills at Karpagam College of Pharmacy, the centre offers confinement of several amenities. The college provides discipline and classy hostels for male and female students within the compound of the institution. To cater the academic need of KCP, library facility of area approx 162 sq.mt and contains the strength of 2750 books, and 36 National & 09 International journals. The institution has invested a lot in technology, evident by having fifty computers that have broadband connections for all departments in the organization. Other facilities that may be useful to students include gymnasium, trained coaches, indoor and outdoor games facilities and a canteen. Transport facilities are arranged in which students and staff members can travel in easily to reach the college located at Pollachi Main Road.

A total of 7 courses are presently being run by Karpagam College of Pharmacy at present out of which some are undergraduate while others are post graduate courses. The institute offers the full-time course in different specialisation areas of pharmacy. The B.Pharma programme holds the largest capacity of the college with one hundred candidates admitted, whereas the M.Pharma in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutical Analysis has a capacity of fifteen students for each of the programmes. The college also has 30 seats in Pharm.D and 10 seats in B.Pharma Lateral Entry. At the academic year ended in 2022, the college had a total of 510 students enrolled for different programmes with 331 being at the undergraduate level, 15 at postgraduate level and 164 at doctoral level.

Admission procedure of Karpagam College of Pharmacy is as per Regulation of the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University, Chennai and Directorate of Medical Education, Chennai – Government of Tamil Nadu. This makes it easier to choose people that meet certain tests and standards and serves as a measure towards fairness of all persons for jobs. It also accepts several tests in Pharmacy, though specific name of these tests is not captured in the extracted data.
