Kasturi Ram College of Higher Education, Delhi Admission Process

Kasturi Ram College of Higher Education, Delhi, offering a large array of undergraduate courses across various fields of study. The college has an affiliation with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, and it has a merit-based admission system for most courses. However, entrance examination results for some programs are also considered for admission. The school typically begins the admission cycle soon after the announcement of the 12th standard results, that is, around May-June. Then registrations are open for various undergraduate programs, including BBA, B.Com (Hons), BA (Journalism and Mass Communication), B.Ed, and BCA.

For the most courses, the admission is given according to the merit marks of the qualifying examination (12th standard). But the college also accepts the BBA entrance examination score either from IPU CET or from CUET. With different modes of admission, the B.Ed program admits students based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or B.Ed entrance examination as per state government and university norms. Eligibility criteria vary depending on the program selected. Basically, the students should have qualified their 10+2 from a recognized board. There may be some specific requirements regarding disciplines studied and minimum percentage criteria for various courses.

Application Process

The application procedure for Kasturi Ram College of Higher Education varies according to the program of choice:

1. Check Eligibility: First, check whether you fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down for the program you are interested in.

2. Entrance Test: Candidate must undertake the IPU CET for BBA and BCA programs. For other programs which require entrance, the candidate might have to undertake CUET. The candidate should register himself/herself for the examination according to the prescribed schedule.

3. The Application Form: After the announcement of entrance exam results, eligible candidates will fill out the application form for the selected course. This is usually done online via the college/university website.

4. Document Submission: Following this, the candidate must collect and submit relevant documents, which generally include:

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • Entrance exam score card (IPU CET or CUET)
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • ID proof
  • Passport size photographs

5. Creation of Merit List: The college will prepare a merit list based on either the scores in the entrance examination and/or the marks in the 12th standard, depending on which is applicable for different programs.

6. Counselling Process: The shortlisted candidates may be called for a counselling session, during which they select the course(s) of their choice along with the shifts (if applicable).

7. After allotment of seats, candidates have to pay the fees within the stipulated time frame to confirm admission.

8. Document Verification: Finally, candidates have to report to the college for a physical verification of all documents in original.

Degree wise Admission Process

It is necessary that candidates have completed their 10+2 with a minimum percentage as specified by the university.

B.Com (Hons) (Bachelor of Commerce Honours): It is for this B.Com (Hons) that, as all applicants for admission, CUET and IPU CET merit are considered. There are 50 seats in the course concerned. Eligibility usually includes 10+2 with commerce or associated subjects, and the minimum percentage as prescribed by the university.

BA (Journalism and Mass Communication): Specific details regarding admission are not provided for this program, but presumably, the selection process is similar to that used for other undergraduate courses, i.e., merit in 10+2 or entrance exam scores. This program has a capacity of 120 students, which is divided into two shifts of 60 each.

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): Admission to the B.Ed program is based on the scores of CUET and IPU CET. The B.Ed program has a sanctioned intake of 100 candidates in the college. Minimum percentage and a bachelor's degree in a relevant field are necessary for the candidates according to the requirements prescribed by the regulatory bodies.

BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications): Admission to BCA is also based on merit secured in IPU CET, similar to BBA. The remaining vacancies, if any, will be assigned based on merit in CUET. The number of seats for BCA will be 60. The applicant must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics/Computer Science as one of the subjects.
