The KEC College of Education, affiliated to the University of Tiruvannamalai, was started in 2006 to train teachers in Tamil Nadu. This institution can be found at Chinnakangaynur Village, Pallikondapattu Post; this institution is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college at the moment has 55 students and nine members of the faculty. KEC College of Education currently has only one program, which is the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), however it has an approved capacity of one hundred students, thus proposing to be a specialized college for educationists at heart.
The college currently has several facilities to support the students learning process as well as their development. Sports amenities for all student’s are provided to encourage the youth in taking up the sports as a profession, as well as, to enhance tactical aptitude. The KEC College of Education offers only one program, its B.Ed programme which is a two-year full time programme. Such training is done with a lot of focus since the institution does not have to spread its resources and efforts in offering training to other unrelated fields or programmes. For the B.Ed programme alone, the college can admit up to 100 students, thus making it possible for those who intend to teach in future to do so here with out competing for a few slots. Although the graduation data of the most recent year is missing, the college provides key result area focused and dedicated infrastructural facilities for teacher education.
