Kempegowda Memorial Polytechnic, Tumkur also known as Kempegowda Institute of Post Graduate Studies was established in 2008 is a Technical institution situated at Belagumba post in Tumkur district of Karnataka. This affiliated college which is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education – AICTE offers all types of diploma courses in various fields of engineering. The polytechnic is situated on a 5.5 acre campus, with total student-intake capacity of 248 students with 32 faculty members. Due to its focus on providing a quality technical education for its students, Kempegowda Memorial Polytechnic has grown tremendously popular among the people of this area who are interested in engineering.

The institute boasts of its rich teaching environment jewel with modern day facilities. The students are able to gain practical knowledge from well equipped laboratories for all major fields of engineering. Library and learning center are comfortable with the contemporary academic materials and soft wares to facilitate students in their study. Kempegowda Memorial Polytechnic currently provides only 5 full-time diploma programmes and they are five in number, and the course duration of each is three academic years. They are Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering and Diploma in Civil Engineering. The total approved intake for the institute is 240 students for these courses the higher intake is given to Mechanical Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering each having a of 60 students while rest of the courses have intake capacity of 40 students each.
