About Kingston Polytechnic College, Duttapukur

Located in Kolkata, West Bengal, Kingston Polytechnic College, Duttapukur was established in the year 2004. This affiliated college is duly approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and offers a co-education system for studying diplomas in different streams of engineering. The institution is based on a vast 31-acre campus, having a total student enrolment of 2,153, with a faculty strength of 90. Kingston Polytechnic College offers six diploma courses in different specialisations to the diverse educational needs of would-be engineers in this region.

The college is dedicated to providing a conducive learning environment with a host of facilities supporting growth in academics and other aspects of the personality of students. The library extends over an area of 4,000 square feet of storage space and an additional reading area twice that big, with over 20,000, carefully chosen titles apart from the latest journals and periodicals. The laboratories, like the Strength of Materials Lab, Thermal Engineering Lab, and CAD/CAM Lab, are well-equipped in pursuit of practical learning. It also has a very spaciously built 200-people capacity auditorium, most suitable for educational meets, conferences, and workshops. There is a centrally located cafeteria that caters to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals to students at very student-friendly prices. In case of any medical emergency, a safe, well-accessible medical room with all the necessary facilities is available.
Kingston Polytechnic College offers six full-time diploma courses, all of which have a duration of three years.

Start Infinity Kingston Polytechnic College, Duttapukur, is an AICTE-approved institute which offers various branches of engineering in diploma courses as a program of study. Kingston Polytechnic College adopts merit-based admission procedures via Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education (WBSCTE). Normally, the admission cycle will depend on the schedule of JEXPO examination. First, the students need to attend the JEXPO exam to get at least a valid rank to become eligible for Kingston Polytechnic College.

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: The intake for this program is 180 students. Admission for this program is based on the JEXPO rank obtained by the candidates after securing a minimum of 35% aggregate marks in the 10th examination.

Diploma in Civil Engineering: This course consists of 180 seats, with the same admission policy as that of Mechanical Engineering.

Diploma in Electrical Engineering: Admission to this program is also based on the JEXPO rank and that of the 10th standard, and 180 seats are available for this course.

Diploma in Computer Science and Technology: This program provides 60 seats wherein the admission process is almost consistent with other courses; a valid JEXPO rank and a minimum of 35% completed in the 10th examination are required.

Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering: This program offers 60 seats and has been made possible by the criteria of standard admission, which is JEXPO performance-based.

Diploma in Automobile Engineering: This also has a capacity of 60 seats but follows similar processes as the rest of courses during admission.

To determine final admission among all these programs, it requires that candidates should have at least completed their 10th standard with a minimum of 35% aggregate marks. The merit list generated based on the JEXPO ranks of the applicants is what determines the final selection.

This college library equipped with many books, including meticulously chosen titles and latest journals and periodicals. The college has a sports complex with facilities like a basketball court and cricket ground. Laboratories are well maintained. Canteen and cafeteria's food are good.

College infrastructure are good well maintained. We got all the necessary equipments there. They have laboratories library which is very helpful for us. Wifi also available here but I didn't find any smart board here.

The infrastructure is very good if you compare with another polytechnic college. We've great library and great workshop or laboratory in our college. Hostel facility available only for girls. Canteen food is average.
