SKREAM 2025, the Annual Sports Festival of KJSCE Mumbai, will be held from January 6 to 10, 2025.
KJSCE Mumbai is organising ISTE-approved STTP on "Quantum Intelligence & Generative AI" from Dec 2-6, 2024.
College infrastructure is good withe wifi accessibility all over the campus and AC installed in every classrooms and labs with a projector. Good hygiene and maintained cleanliness. Access to library and reading room for study.
Studying Computer Engineering. Curriculum is similar to GATE exam syllabus which is helpful also helps during placements. Syllabus is up to date and updated if necessary. New topics are being learned.
Placement cell is there to guide students during placement time. Highest package of 59 lpa and average package of above 10 lpa can be seen. Major company like JP Morgan Chase and Co. visits every year with 19.75 lpa.
My total fees for 4 year course is around 1915000 i.e. around 475000 every year. Fees can be mandatory little less to be affordable. Hostel fees for polytechnic hostel is around 140000 and other hostel is around 250000.
Campus Life is too good , with many fests , like 1 in a month . Location is very prime , near to ghatkopar station , tilak nagar station and vidyavihar station also near to ghatkopar metro. Many sports facilities are available in campus.
The college infrastructure is top notch with all the necessary facilities ranging from high speed internet throughout the college premises, classrooms projectors, laboratories equipped with latest instruments etc. The campus also consists of a football ground, tennis court, basketball court, cricket ground, two hostels, amphitheatre, and a number of college canteens. The campus is always well maintained and is an ideal place for all round development.
The teaching staff at KJSCE is highly qualified with a large number of PHD holders in the staff. Being an autonomous institution, KJSCE maintains its own curriculum and conducts exams accordingly. Professors are accessible at any point of time for any assistance.
Placements in 2017 for mechanical branch were average due to lesser number of Core companies visiting the campus. However, I was lucky to get into one of the core companies however a large number of students joined various IT companies or went abroad for further studies. The maximum package offered for mechanical stream was around 5.5 LPA while the average was 3.25 LPA.
The fees at KJSCE was Rs 1,25,000 per year in 2017. However the considering the average package received by the students during placement, it did not prove to be a worthy investment. Many student did not receive the jobs of their choice through the campus which left many dejected.
Various events are organized at the campus. All festivals are celebrated in the college hostel as well as at the institute. Some of these are Ganesh Chaturthi, Mavratri and Dahi Handi. It is a great time to be in the campus for such events.
Many things have changed since I have graduated from KJSCE. The placement records have improved quite well however the fees has also increased accordingly. Rest assured, KJSCE is a great place to be and you will always cherish the moments at this place.
To be honest, yes, the infrastructure is okayish.Don't worry,it's the second largest campus in Mumbai after IITB,with a huge sports complex. Most computers DO work, mouse and keyboard are fine in all of them;yes,PC versions are outdated, but not very bad. It's a clean and hygienic environment in the classes, labs as well as canteens, hostels too.WiFi works slow but fulfills requirements.Smart boards are often used.A concluding pt.-AC's aren't there in any classes/labs except a few;expect 'em in 3-4 yrs.
I am a student of Second Year in BTech Computer Engineering.Just like 99% colleges in Mumbai,in First Year you'll have subjects common to all branches(fundamental subjects of Engineering)-try not to get KTs/Supplementary(applicable for all 4 yrs)in FY atleast-will be an additional burden in the remaining years.Quality of teaching>most colleges of Mumbai, still learn from online resources/reference books for being job-ready.Most subjects remain the same but assessment methods have changed.
Like other colleges, placements had dropped during lockdown(5-6 LPA).Post-lockdown,the average/median salary has improved slightly(8-10 LPA).3-4 guys bagged offers worth 50 LPA+ (COMPS)recently, first time in clg history.Microsoft's a regular campus visitor.Doing internships/online courses/material recommended by clg faculty/TPO/Internship cell would be helpful. They WON'T force you to pay money for any internships.Usual placement process-Aptitude,Technical and HR round/group discussion(heard so).
Course cost me 4.25 Lakhs in FY and increased to 4.55 Lakhs in Second Year.It keeps increasing bit-by bit, year after year, but won't matter if you take full toll of the resources available.Fee same for COMP and IT,lower for other branches.Since the college came under it's own university, most things remain the same except for a few assesment methods/drop in cutoffs.I don't want to comment about ROI,it's all up to you to decide.Taking same branch in other top 5 colleges under MU can be consideredB4
Huge campus, many clubs/councils,activities,fests,events happening all round he year are your ticket to escape from reality, college academics and tasks. They also shape you and help in career growth. It's located in the heart of Mumbai-Ghatkopar,so people from all areas of Mumbai come here.Tech Fest-Abhiyantriki.Cultural Fest-Symphony.Emergencies are handled efficiently. Most people are Gujarati/Marathi.
The college has a decent infrastructure and it has been improving on a regular basis. The labs are average and the equipment's can be improved a bit. Overall you even have decent grounds and it's a large campus which can be explored a lot.
There are good faculties and professors overall. The course also keeps on evolving on a regular basis. You have electives to choose from. You even get coursera access so you can choose from a lot of courses.
The placement overall is average. You get better placements for computer engineering and IT branch where as other departments get average placements of around 5-6 lpa. Almost every student from computer engineering and IT gets placed . Most of the companies that come are mostly from the IT sector.
Yes the college has tha necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. All the classrooms are well equipped. The laboratories have all the necessary and well updated equipments. The libraries also have all types of necessary books.
I am studying electronics Engineering. The curriculum is updated and it includes all the recent developments in the field. All the chapters and the whole syllabus is set in a way that makes a person job ready.
The placement of this college is very good. Almost all the students who want to pursue job in the respective fields get placed till the end of the year. The packages that tha companies offer are quite decent.
The course coat of the last Mumbai University batch was 1.85 lakhs per year.
The campus life is good
College campus and it's hygiene is the top most thing I love about our college. Maintaining such huge campus , regular cleaning and proper management of all the facilities. We have all the facilities in our labs(accept AC hehe) including high computational powers computers.
I am studying Btech IT there. The way syllabus is developed and taught are very helpful when we see it in a real world. I would say there teaching methods could be little more engaging and includes more involvement.
Best college when it comes to placements session. We got more than 200+ companies for recruitment. We had got so many opportunities. Even we failed , we still had the chances to apply to the companies. Our placement sir was the most supportive person that time.
Money worth won't be 100% satisfied but I have personally learnt a lot from my college and i have grown at an individual level which is helping me outside world and all the subjects we had had literal meaning in the co-operate life.
My college would be 10/10 when it comes to campus life. I have been in hostel. The hostel infrastructure, the hostel mess(yes I loved mess food) and the hygiene is 10/10. Everything is safe. Through hostel mates we can interact and participate in activities of other courses like MBA .
Best college.
The college has all the necessary amenities and it is fully connected by somaiya wifi throughout the campus. The labs have all the facilities that a practical might need. Specially the electronics laboratories have the machines and equipments that is required for the experiements.
Academically it's good and the syllabus is up to date. It follows Mumbai university but as it is an autonomous college it keeps on checking whether the syllabus is up to date and keeps on updating as required by the industry and market.
All the top and dreams with good average packages visit the college. I'm placed in L&T Infotech. Very good opportunities are provided for Electronics branch and mechanical branch too. Core companies in core domain also visit the campus.
I think the fees is too much in comparison to other colleges in the same rank.
The campus is the best thing that Somaiya has. It is the second largest campus in Mumbai after IIT Bombay.
It's an amazing experience to study from KJ Somaiya College of Engineering. It was who used to read reviews from careers 360 and here I'm reviewing my college. Academically, placement wise and in every term the college is amazing.
KJ Somaiya provides all the necessary equipments and the college life is too good the teachers staffs are highly educated and professionals. The infrastructure of the college is designed in a good way that looks different from others. College provides facilities like labs, library, open gym, cycles for hostel students, private gym, etc. The labs and libraries are truly well mannered and neat and clean. The sports are the peak of the the college. Every essentials of sports are provided by college
I was studying computer science engineering because the course was high in demand so I just wanted to take that course. Also I was passionate to learn and do coding. The teachers teach well. The college books really make you a job ready, you want to learn skills and do some basic course aside.
The placements are good and most of students get placed in placements. 70% of students gets placed in placements round and the highest package is around 1800000 and lowest is 400000 in computer science engineering.
I was costed around 1688000 total fees and the hostel fees apart. But I think it was worthy because the memories I made are cost less and the surrounding I found was also amazing.
The college campus is too big. It includes more building for primary school, secondary college and other programs college. The campus includes the athlete running track and football ground which is the most loved part of the campus. The staffs and teachers are very cooperative and friendly in nature.
I think the best college in Mumbai is kj somaiya for engineering.
The Somaiya College has an great infrastructure. It has great labs for engineering related subjects. Also canteen, library, sports infrastructure is too good. There are various kinds of sports infrastructure, also the college is coming up with a new gymkhana.
I am studying electronics engineering, and I will surely say the curriculum is updated and it really includes all the recent developments in my field. Also the college has recently updated and added number of minors and honors program which are optional. These minors/honors are optional for the student.
A number of company come to college for placement from various sectors. The sector of the companies range from core to non-core, finances, analytics, consulting and technical. The highest salary package of A.Y. 2020-21 was around 40 Lacs.
The infrastructure of KJ Somaiya College is really good. The library, labs, etc are all up-to-date. The equipment and facilities are all well maintained. The food here in the canteen as well as in the mess is all hygienic.
I am an Electronics Engineering student currently in my third year. The curriculum is updated and they teach you almost everything related to your field. The subjects they teach helps you to gain knowledge and help for your placements.
Many companies come here for placements. The professors help the students to prepare for their placements and make the process easy and pleasant for them. They are very supportive. The quality of placements is also good.
The cost might seem a bit too much but the courses offered and the efforts and all the equipment everything is worth.
The campus of KJ Somaiya College is good and the events organized here are also great.
With a 98.38 percentile in the PERA CET, you have a very good chance of securing a seat in Computer Science at KJ Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai.
KJ Somaiya is a highly reputable engineering college, and while the competition for Computer Science is fierce, your percentile is well above the average cutoff. However, the final decision will depend on the exact cut-off released by the college, which can vary based on factors like the number of applicants and the difficulty level of the exam.
To increase your chances:
Remember, the final decision will depend on the cut-off released by the college.
there are hardly any colleges that award admission on the basis of diploma marks. it is advisable that you answer a national entrance and take admission, there is a scheme of lateral entry that allows you to directly join 2nd year but that is only possible if you are pursuing 1st year in engineering in that college
Dear aspirant,
As you have mentioned that you have secured 67 percentile and 94 percentile approximately in MHTCET so let me tell you that it's a bit difficult to get cse branch but you can hope for the electrical and core branches like mechanical chemical production.
