KJ Somaiya Polytechnic, popularly known as KJSP, was established in the year 1963 and is located in Vidyanagar, Vidyavihar East, Mumbai. This AICTE-approved affiliated college conducts five diploma courses in engineering. KJSP, Mumbai, has a campus spread across 2.99 acres with a total student enrolment of 1,175 and a faculty strength of 43. Full-time diploma courses are offered at this institute in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Electronics, and Computer Engineering. With over sixty years of glorious history, KJ Somaiya Polytechnic has grown into a premier institution for imparting technical education in the city of Mumbai.

KJ Somaiya Polytechnic runs a total of five full-time diploma courses. The intake approved for the institute in all of its courses is 420 students. The diploma programmes offered are three years in duration, given to the students to ensure that they get a firm foundation in the field of engineering that the student has elected.

Admission to the KJ Somaiya Polytechnic is via the Centralised Admission Process Home Page coordinated by DTE, Maharashtra. This procedure will ensure an equitable and open admission of learners on the basis of academic performance. The application process is usually open at the start of the fifth semester of the diploma course and closes upon its end, at the sixth semester.  KJ Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology, Mumbai, hosts a dedicated Training and Placement Cell to facilitate campus placement for final-year students. 

The cell liaises with various organisations to arrange pre-placement talks and interview sessions for final year students, during which they can be recruited by the organisations. Registration with the placement cell is required to take part in this process. Attendance during PPTs is also mandatory, so only those registered students can go through the stages of the placement process.
