Kongunadu Arts and Science College (KASC) was established in 1973, It is an Autonomous college in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Located at Coimbatore and affiliated to Bharathiar University, KASC has ranked in the NIRF 2024 ranking under college category. This college is NAAC accredited and is approved by AICTE with a wide portfolio of courses in many fields. Located on a land area of 5.47 acres, KASC currently offers a total student enrolled population of 5,020 and employs 208 members of faculty. The institute teaches 76 courses that fall under 13 degrees with fair proportion of male students, 51% and female students 49%.

Kongunadu Arts and Science College offered by KASC include a variety of facilities that can improve the student circumstances. It has boys and girls hostel to provide quality accommodation to the students of the campus. Desirable facilities include a well-stocked library as the underlying information centre as well as an efficient Information Technology support system for today’s learning requirements. The college has sports grounds for volleyball throw ball and badminton playing field The college also has facilities for indoor activities such as basketball, table tennis etc. There is cafeteria that I visited with the name of Aroma Bakes where you find different types of foods are available. The conference that aids seminar, workshop, and any meeting stands at 2,100 sq. ft with full air conditioning. They use high speed broadband internet and Wi-Fi facilities for their benefits. Also the branch of an Indian Overseas Bank with walk-in-ATM and an open for 24-hour shopping centre, co-operative, medical centre but with special rates at Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital.

KASC has a wide array of academic programmes for the undergraduate, postgraduate, masters and doctorate levels of learning. Currently, the college offers 76 courses full time, part time and self financing in faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management- M.Sc Botany  and Diploma in Fashion Design etc. The total student enrolment to date is 5,020, of which a large number are 3,826 students pursuing programmes in the 2023 academic year. It has 41 Undergraduate Programmes, 21 Postgraduate Programmes, 13 M. Phil Programmes, 14 Ph. D. Programmes not to mention Diploma and Certificate Courses.

KASC’S admissions are on merit, with the college receiving applications for a number of courses. It follows a normal procedure of registering for counselling and then documents verification and allotment of seats. Though actual dates for the examinations are not given, the college takes into account performance in entrance examinations for some of its courses. KASC provides scholarships that enable deserving students, 917 undergraduate and nine postgraduate students were given refunds in the 2023 academic year. The college maintains an active alumni base but the Name of these personalities are missing in the Statistical Information given.
