Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule College of Education for Women was founded in 1970 in Mumbai to prepare professional teachers for schools across the nation. This co-educational college is located in Vikhroli (E), Mumbai, and offers the facility of affiliation and is approved by the NCTE for Teacher Education. The college offers two full-time courses, Bachelors in Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Teacher Education (D.T.Ed) with a student capacity of a total of one hundred and fifty. The college has a faculty of 8 members and at present, it has 41 students which indicates that it offers a concentrated atmosphere for education calibrate. 

For its part, Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule College of Education has a variety of infrastructure with the aim of improving the education in addition to the growth and development of the learners. Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule College of Education provides two courses in teacher education. The B.Ed course has 100 seats, while the D.T.Ed course has 50 seats of admission. It is worthy to note that both, are two-year full-time courses aimed at producing competent professional teachers. Concentrating the college on these two central programmes allows to provide individual care to educate teachers to meet the challenges of the constantly changing educational market. 

At present, K.S.P.C.E admission policy involves merit by obtaining marks of the entrance examination as well as, marks of the qualifying examination. Regarding admission for the B.Ed programme it is done according to the rules and regulations of the government of state, UT administration and the university which the college is affiliated to. The D.T.Ed programme also explains the similar process which is setup in accordance to the state government or UT administration. This approach also makes the process of selecting the candidates more fair and transparent and identify people who could turn into good teacher soon.
