Krantisinh Nana Patil College of Veterinary Science, Satara was established in 1988. The college is located at Shirval, Satara district, Maharashtra, and the campus is spread over 227 acres. KNPCVS offers all kinds of courses related to veterinary science at this college. In the college, the total enrolment of students is 334, and the faculty strength is 43. KNPCVS offers 18 courses in the 2 degree levels oriented towards different aspects of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry. The institution is pledged to delivering quality education in the field of veterinary medicine and animal sciences.

KNPCVS boasts of rendering varied facilities that enhance the students' learning experience. The college has separate hostels for boys and girls to ensure comfortable accommodation for students coming from every nook and corner. There is a well-stocked library functioning as a knowledge hub in the college, thereby making voluminous veterinary literature and research materials available to the students. The modern laboratories are an integral part of the college, where students get firsthand experience through practical learning and research works in the veterinary sciences. For the all-round development of students, KNPCVS provides sports facilities and a gymnasium. The auditorium of the campus is where the academic and cultural programs are held. It also has a health centre that offers first-aid facilities to students and staff. In the campus lies the canteen and refreshment corner, some guest rooms that accommodate the visiting faculty and family members of the students. It offers various courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the curriculum. The flagship program, however, is the Bachelor of 

Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & AH), which is a six-year full-time course with an intake capacity of 75 students. At the postgraduate level, KNPCVS offers different Master of Veterinary Science programs, each of two years' duration. These range from specialized M.V.Sc. programs in Veterinary Pathology, Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Public Health, to many more. All courses collectively have an approved total intake of students at KNPCVS with 334, reflecting its commitment to the maintenance of a favorable student-faculty ratio for quality education.

The admission process at KNPCVS strictly goes on the basis of merit and is transparent. Any candidate to be eligible for the B.V.Sc & AH course needs to be domicile of Maharashtra and would have appeared in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test conducted by the National Testing Agency, Government of India. This will ensure that only the meritorious and serious-minded students get admitted to this programme. The NEET examination is usually conducted once a year. Students who wish to apply should keep themselves updated with respect to the dates of the examination declared by NTA. For postgraduate courses, though no specific admission procedures have been given, typically such courses take into consideration academic performance in the relevant bachelor's degree and possibly a separate entrance examination.
