KRP College of Education, Namakkal, started in 2005, has been synonymous for education in Tamil Nadu. Established in a vast area of 2.05 acre of land located in Pachampalayam Sankari West Thiruchengode, is an affiliated college. Recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), KRP College of Education provides focus to specialised courses in teacher education. The institute has a total intake capacity of 191 students and faculty strength of 23, which lets the institute provide proper attention and education. The college at present has two full-fledged courses, B.Ed. and M.Ed., to impart education to those students who want to be teachers at the initial and higher levels, respectively.

This institute is well equipped with modern teachings facilities to provide the best environment to its students. More than 10250 books are stored in the library, 25 journals, and 6 magazines are available in the library for the students and other scholars. To enhance practical experience, the college provides departmental laboratories that contain modern instrumentation. It boasts of Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the campus to guarantee proper connection for use by students or staff. 

Avoidance of unhealthy lifestyles is embraced through the availability of a health centre that has a facility for first aid. Sports activities for extracurricular activities involve numerous sports amenities and facilities and a large auditorium for functions, seminars and conventions. The canteen provides a place for taking meals and, generally, a place where people go to socialise. Also, the college has strong computing services that enhance the use of information technology systems.

KRP College of Education currently provides two overall courses in education. The B.Ed. programme is a two-year full-time course with an approved intake of 100 students. The second programme is the Master of Education (M.Ed.), which is also a two-year full-time course This programme complements the undergraduate programme but the number of intakes for this programme is not clear. As we discussed in previous sections, both courses are intended to prepare students to have successful education careers. These core education programmes are cornerstones at the college and validate the institution’s intention of producing eligible and capable teaching professionals.

KRP College of Education operates on a merit-based admission policy as directed by the state government, UT administration and university norms. Admissions for the B.Ed. programmes are done on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying examination. Likewise, marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination and in the entrance test or any other method in accordance with the government and university norms of the time are taken into account by the M. EDT program. The college also have a key concern in making the environment conducive for learning and embracing student from all over, like international students. Although there is no special information about scholarships, the institute must provide aid to successful students. It is for this reason that KRP College of Education is determined to prepare the next generation teachers to foster future learning in India.
