KSP Mandal’s College of Library and Information Science for year was started in the year 2008 situated at Osmanabad, Maharashtra. This affiliated college focuses on training students in libraries and information science with a clear curriculum for information professionals. The institute is situated on a small premises of 0.5 acres; it takes an aggregate of 110 students in total and requires having two qualified teachers. The college provides only one course of postgraduate level, that is Master of Library Science (M.Lib.Sc.), which is a full one-year course and has been formulated to impart full time education. It is a co-education institution, and cost allows it to accept students from all over thus promoting the diverse population of the college. Among these central commitments that define the college is the provision of a range of facilities to support the student endeavours.

Accompanying it is its library that provides a full range of information materials required in academic activities. It is used to host several events and seminars in a bid to create awareness and also as a tool to advance education among the professionals. In addition to the dais there is cafeteria for the staffs and students to take break and have refreshment. It also has undeniably good IT facilities that make the students’ access to modern technological equipment necessary for learning Library and Information Science. Gymnasium & playgrounds are made available for the physical activities to help to balance the routine of a person. Moreover, the college has separate departmental laboratory for practice in various information management working techniques. Largely, a health centre with a first aid together with other facilities to enhance the students’ welfare is available. 

The College of Library and Information Science of KSP Mandal is designed for postgraduate degree in library and information science only. The M.Lib.Sc programme is generally offered with an intention of being a full time course for students who want to build a career in library science. The total student intake for the entire college is 110 and there is a great capacity for this type of specialised seats for this programme. This approach of specialising in the delivery of Library and Information Science and educating students for Library and Information Science professionals help the institution to focus on effectiveness in its delivery. 

Since, KSP Mandal is a post-graduate college exclusively for women and offers postgraduate programme in Library and Information Science only therefore, the admission is also specially designed to suit the Post Graduate programme. The admission requirements and process of the M.Lib.Sc course therefore can only be provided by the college in question and interested students should contact them. Rather than having a generic range of programmes, the setting of the college solely offers a single Programme of Study and thus easily enables the college to select and enroll the most qualified students.
