Kunthavai Naacchiyar Government Arts college for Women also known as KNGAC was started in the year 1966 is an autonomous college situated at Thanjavur, Tamilnadu. Established in 1948, this is a government-affiliated women’s college located over an area of 17.5 acres. NAAC is one primary reason that this esteemed university, KNGAC, has sought accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The college has 4,617 students and 95 faculties and teaches 47 courses in nine degree programmes. KNGAC is an arts, science and commerce kind of university with emphasis on research through the offer of PhD programmes in different fields.

The total enrolment is 4,420; 85% comprises undergraduate students and 15% postgraduate students. Most important of all, it has a 100% female student enrolment and training to uphold its call of offering education to women.
