Kunthavai Naacchiyar Government Arts college for Women also known as KNGAC was started in the year 1966 is an autonomous college situated at Thanjavur, Tamilnadu. Established in 1948, this is a government-affiliated women’s college located over an area of 18 acres. NAAC is one primary reason that this esteemed university, KNGAC, has sought accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The college has 4,420 students and 95 faculties and teaches 47 courses in nine degree programmes. KNGAC is an arts, science and commerce kind of university with emphasis on research through the offer of PhD programmes in different fields.

Kunthavai Naacchiyar Government Arts college also has available a complete list of facilities that help to advance learning and development of students. A good library is that which is a store house of books, journals, and other related e-resources. At undergraduate level of study, the college offers the following Bachelors: Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). The postgraduate programmes that are available at this level include; Masters of Arts (MA), Masters of Science (M.Sc), Masters of Commerce (M.Com) Masters in Philosophy (M.Phil).
