Situated in North Lakhimpur, Assam, Lakhimpur Commerce College came into being as an institution of great repute in the year 1972. Co-educational in nature, this affiliated college has contributed to the academic service for more than five decades, with its varied commerce, arts, and management courses. This institution has a total enrolment of students as 950 and a faculty strength of 41, against a campus area of 8.26 acres. Accreditated by NAAC, Lakhimpur Commerce College occupies a worthy place among institutions offering higher education in the region. 

Lakhimpur Commerce College commits itself to rendering an appropriate academic environment to the students. These are supported by a variety of facilities for academic and personal growth. The library, established in the year 1975, serves with a huge stock of books, periodicals, magazines, and newspapers as a treasure house of knowledge. It also subscribes to national and international peer-reviewed journals and e-journals through N-List, INFLIBNET. The institution has a well-equipped IT infrastructure. It also has a dedicated Computer Application Department that started functioning in the year 1995. For the convenience of students, there are 18 classrooms out of which 5 are ICT-enabled smart classes to facilitate the modern teaching-learning process. 

Lakhimpur Commerce College offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It offers 13 courses, out of which full-time degree courses in the faculties of Arts and Commerce are also offered by this institution. Some of the popular courses include B.Com with Accounting and Finance, Banking and Insurance, Human Resource Management, and Marketing. BA course with honours in the following subjects: Sociology, Political Science, Education, Economics, Assamese. At the postgraduate level, the institution provides an M.Com course having an intake capacity of 20 students. There is also a PG Diploma in Hindi Translation that caters to various interests in learning. 

Admission into different courses in the Lakhimpur Commerce College happens on the basis of merit, which thus allows admission of only meritorious students. In the undergraduate courses, admission is strictly made on the basis of a merit list prepared in accordance with the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The M.Com. programme is an exception, where admission is made through the Dibrugarh University Post Graduate Entrance Test (DUPGET) scores.
