Lakshmi Narayan Mahavidyalaya, Mau: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

The Lakshmi Narayan Mahavidyalaya College is an affiliated college situated at Pakhaipur, Kushmaur, Mau, Uttar Pradesh that was started in the year 2005. Gathering the total area of 6.16 acres, the institute provides 9 courses in 5 degrees of study. The college takes students with a total of 506 and has faculties of 21 total, hence creating a suitable learning atmosphere. Affiliated to National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the institute is offering various discipline such as Education, Arts & Science. The college is part of a university providing both undergraduate and postgraduate curricula for the students’ particular fields of study and the eventual profession. 

Hence, the institute has facilities that seek to improve the lives of the students in the area. Thus, equipped library is an important knowledge center for the students and the faculty of the institution. The college requires practical learning and research and therefore it has departmental laboratories. Games lovers have the opportunity of playing different facilities such as the badminton, chess, carrom, volleyball, handball, tennis, soccer among others. The campus is also equipped with an audio visual hall for conducting seminars or any other event, canteen for having snacks and beverages and indoor play area with facilities for gymnasium etc. There is evidence that confirms the presence of IT support in essence with todays learning models. In the same regard, there are college owned parking space, a health center which provides first aid treatment, and guest house for the college guest faculty and students’ families.

Lug exactly nine courses which are full time under graduate and post graduate programs of all streams. The Undergraduate course has the programme s BA, B.Sc, B. Ed and the post graduate have programme have MA in Geography, Sociology,Education Hindi and Home Science. The college also has Diploma in Elementary Education or D.el.ed course. B.Ed program has intake capacity which has been approved by the sở for 100 students at a time, D.El.Ed programme also has the intake of 50 students at one time. These are general courses to ensure the students gain sufficient knowledge and mastery to enable them fit in various academic or professional pursuits in future. 

The admission procedure in MNM is dissimilar to course that the students wants to pursue in the college. For the B.ED programme, admission is merit based namely; mark obtained in the qualifying examination and/ or entrance test. The process of selection is consistent with the rules of the state government, University’s teaching administration and the University itself. Likewise the University admissions for D.El.Ed programme are merit based, based on marks in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination as per government of West Bengal norms. In other courses, although the entrance procedures are not described in detail, similar patterns of merit are expected.
