Lal Bahadur Shastri Polytechnic Institute, Tondar affiliated college of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune established in 2010 situated in Udgir Maharashtra. It is an AICTE recognised institution that provides diploma courses in the field of engineering. Located in Roorkee, the institute has 5 acre campus and more than 109 students intake and there are 24 faculty members available in the institute. Currently the institute offers three full time diploma courses in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering respectively, which have a span of three years only. Thus, technical education is at the focus of the institute’s activities and the main goal is to prepare students for the determination of successful careers in engineering. 

Lal Bahadur Shastri Polytechnic Institute has made significant development in having facilities that will foster the students’ academic and personal development. The well stocked up library remains as a source of information to the students. Departmental laboratories are effective to provide practical sessions as they are fundamental in learning different concepts of engineering. The college also have an auditorium in occasions such as seminars for academic activities contributing to its vibrant view. There is a staff and students’ cafeteria, and health centre with first aid facilities to meet the medical needs of the staff and students. Students are also advised and kept fit through the various sports amenities and gym in the institute to cater for the overall development. Further, the college has taken good care in placing exemplary IT facilities, in the preparation for the advance arae. Currently, Lal Bahadur Shastri Polytechnic Institute specialises in a selected number of engineering diploma courses. 

The institute currently provides three full-time courses: - Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, and Electrical Engineering. The three programmes have been recognised to take an admission of 60, meaning that the University offers 3 programme courses and 180 points in total. These offered three-year diploma programmes are categorised as knowledge-base programmes, which are meant to equip students with a wealth of ideas in their areas of specialisation while developing their practical aspects.
